WebJan 5, 2016 · In general, you started with too much paraffin - that is the component which is not very BP compatible, and the component that is making it stiff and require heat to lube. Adjust mix to make it work for you. Check that it doesn't run TOO much at summer temps, or you will need to shoot this batch all before warm weather. Also, the Thompson Bear is available Cold or Heat. Cold can be used with no heat, Heat only takes a few extra degrees. Both work well, take less heat than Blue Angel.

Since the bullets are themselves conductors of heat and are sitting on the heat source, the lube around them will heat up and melt before any of the rest of the lube in the pan melts. WebAug 7, 2024 · I heat bullets along with SPG lube in 200 degree oven. Other lubes may need a tad more heat, but not more than 240 (scorch). Silicone pan helps with easier release of lube cake.
