It took me a while, because I kept getting to (1+sin^2 (x))/cos^2 (x), which evaluates to sec^2 (x) + tan^2 (x). Almost there, but not quite. After a lot of fiddling, I got the correct result by adding cos^2 (x) to the numerator and denominator.
