WebI am working in Krita. I added a layer with the values. Then I added the color layer with "Color" blending mode. I realized my values are too bright, so I added a full black "Multiply" layer with reduced opacity. The hightlights you see are part of the values layer, I didn't create a separate "highlights layer".
