Probability in statistics definition
Webb24 juni 2024 · Probability is a mathematical tool used to study randomness. It deals with the chance (the likelihood) of an event occurring. For example, if you toss a fair coin four times, the outcomes may not be two heads and two tails. However, if you toss the same coin 4,000 times, the outcomes will be close to half heads and half tails. Webb21 jan. 2024 · A probability is a number which ranges from 0 to 1 – zero for an event which cannot occur and 1 for an event certain to occur. For example: a) In a cricket match, chances of winning a team are 50%. b) If a coin is tossed, chances of head are 50%. c) If a dice is thrown, chances of any one number are 16.67%.
