Splet22. mar. 2013 · The engine should now run less richly but this is a somewhat crude fix and it you think it is over lean then you need to get another roller in-between 3/8" and 10 mm diameter. Note that the original roller is 0.375" dia and 10 mm is 0.394 " dia. Clearly it would make sense to get more than one made for you just in case. SpletIf it rises and stays fast the mixture is too rich. If the engine dies when the pin is lifted, it is too weak. Switch off the engine before adjusting the mixture, and check that the jet needle is central. Remove the air cleaner , lift the piston and let it fall. If the jet is central, the piston falls with a sharp click.

I had the carbs and manifold rebuilt by PalTech and after receiving them I have been having issue with the front carb running rich and being unable to adjust it lean. The front 3 plugs are sooted Black and I have adjusted and adjusted until I am adjusted out. SpletBlack = rich. Gray/white = lean. Light beige = Right On ! But I have a TR3A with SU carbs. SpletYou may be running rich. Rich fuel mixtures blacken your sparkplugs. You'll initially have an easy engine start because of a lot of fuel but, eventually, your sparkplugs blacken and the engine becomes difficult to start. Pull your sparkplugs off and see what color they are. If light grey, you've got to much air and not enough fuel. SpletI have a 1973 TR6 and it is running very very rich. It has just had a new Unleaded Cylinder head and it seems to be since this was put on. The plugs are very black and the car has now got to the point where it is choking itself up, misfiring and loosing power when I try to go up hills (i.e when I use a little more throttle).

Metal work is all original as is the paint LOL. I can never work out why people buy an old rotten/bodged TR and spend millions on metal etc when a CA car is out there waiting.

Idle is fine, acceleration is nesitating and gross. Hi speed looks fine but rich sound. I have put TK fixed needles, (from a TR4A) and it was worse...
